In this course, students will improve their reading and writing skills as they learn the basic building blocks of creating a play: plot, character, thought, diction, melody, and spectacle.
 
Learning Objectives:
 
Students will read and analyze the work of contemporary and classic playwrights to learn about literary and dramatic traditions.
Students will learn how to give constructive feedback to each other's work and accept feedback about their own in a workshop setting.
The student will complete a draft of their ten-minute play (approximately ten pages) for submission to competitions, festivals, or productions.
