Sorry if my answer is incorrect, I'm not very sure what the assignment is, but here it is anyways.
After finishing the first chapter of the book, I think that this book is about overcoming severe psychological trauma, which is displayed in Kira overcoming her mother's death, and being hated by the villagers. I think that this book also is trying to tell us to always have our own backs, and be on the lookout for danger, because in the chapter, she was turned into an orphan, and lastly, I think that this chapter is telling us that anything can happen suddenly, and we have to be prepared for it, or the psychological pressure will crush you. This book is interesting, and i look forward to reading it.
