CleanWipe is needed when uninstalling Symantec software does not completely remove all files and is causing problems when trying to install new software. CleanWipe is now included with a full install of Symantec Endpoint Protection, but you can download it on Broadcom's knowledge site.
We are moving from Symantec to Sophos and Im having issues uninstalling the Symantec Antivirus v10.0.0.359 from some of my XP computer. Im reading there is a Symantec utility called CleanWipe. I cant find it on Symantecs website, nor do any of the links work I find googling. Anyone out there have a reliable link where I can download this utility for my version of Symantec Antivirus
Be careful when downloading a tool like the Cleanwipe utility from untrusted sources. The only supported way to get the tool is directly from Symantec Support. The link that Josh supplied was a version of the tool uploaded to the forums by a non-Symantec person. I removed the tool from the Connect link due to company policy and security reasons.
If I could, I would gladly provide the tool to users here in SW, but unfortunately it is against company policy. All I can say is be careful with downloads coming from other sources, and make sure you are using the latest version of the tool.
I have Symantec EndPoint Protection version 12.1.1000.157 and consistently get the error firewall driver not loaded. I have uninstalled SEP followed every thing I have seen on how to fix this issue but nothing has worked. Now I hear about this CleanWipe utility that I must open a ticket or report to get. If this is a utility that can totally remove this product clean as if it never existed on my machine I think it should be available to download. So does anyone including someone from Symantec tell me what the solution to this problem is.

To obtain Cleanwipe please contact Symantec Technical support.Once the utility has been obtained please follow these instructions:This utility can be run on Windows 2000, Windows XP (32 and 64 bit), and Windows Server 2003 (32 and 64 bit.)Warnings:Do not run this utility on Windows NT, Windows 9x, or Windows Me.Do not run this utility on systems that have Symantec AntiVirus 8.x or below installed.You cannot select individual applications to remove.
